How can I get my mom let me wear...?

Ok I'm 11 turning 12 in a couple of months. And everyone At my school wears eyeliner. (The Gurls) and well my mom dosent let me. And I don't get it she says my skin is Ganna be bad when I get older. Is it true. And how or what can I do to try to get my mom to let me wear Eyeliner. Thanks, Mandy
