Where does protein synthesis occur in a eukaryote cell?

Protein synthesis does occur in the cytoplasm and it is carried out by ribosomes. A cellular enzyme called RNA polymerase goes along and uncoils your DNA, reads it, and makes a corresponding RNA strand out of it. The RNA strand leaves the nucleus and enters the cytoplasm. In the cytoplasm, it is read by a ribosome. The ribosome reads the sequence of nucleic acids in the RNA strand (each set of 3 acids refers to a specific amino acids to be produced) and converts it to functional protein.
