So I had dream I could substitute powdered sweet tarts...?

for sugar in cupcakes. They were the funfetti kind of cupcakes with the little colored bits. Do you think that this would work? Would the acidity in the candy affect how the cupcakes rise? Would they taste weird because of the tartness of the candy? Would I need to use the same quantity? Would it be better to only substitute part of the sugar?
