Why can't you be just a "spiritual person" instead of choosing a religion?
You certainly CAN be spiritual without being religious. I am. Many others are, too. One answerer said to you "Because you would have no guidance."...Some people need that. Some people just can't seem to feel their spirituality and a sense of what to do without someone telling them what to do. I don't know if they are just "blocked" in some way, or perhaps younger souls. I just don't know. But I do know that within myself I feel connected to ALL. And that connection is the source of my spirituality. I respect all religions to a degree, and take what I may need from them. But I do not need to follow a particular creed. I am comfortable with some aspects of the Abrahamic religions. I am very comfortable with the Buddhist point of view. And equally comfortable with many pagan beliefs. Above all, what I need spiritually lies entirely within myself.
